PG Sportsman’s Club

Welcome back!

A few months ago I joined the Pleasant Grove Sportsman’s Club. They have an indoor range in the basement of the Lions Club Building. Nothing fancy but they provide hearing and eye protection, targets and the price is right at $30 a year. Thought we might attend a meeting as a club and check it out? October 3, 2008 PG Sportsmen/Women

Our next gun club meeting will be the 2nd Thursday of October at the range building on Center and 600 E here in PG.

Meeting will begin at 1900 (7pm). Agenda to be determined. Under the direction of Owen Wright, President.

Range shooting to follow meeting.

Next range shoot will be on the 4th Thursday of October (Oct 23) from 7pm to 9pm

Stay tuned for other “happenings”.

If you did not get this tell Jim Cox and give him your newest email address

Oh boy….what fun

hey guys, I got the invite a few days ago, but didnt get around to it till now. Thanks a bunch for the invite, I look forward to heading up and putting some rounds thru the guns. I also look forward to trying out some new ones. I have a ton of guns, but just never get out to shoot them like I would like, so this sounds like a great avenue for that, maybe help me to get out more. Anyhow, Ill keep an eye on the site and see when there will be people heading up to shoot, so I, or me and Ang can join you. Let everyone have fun with the S&W 500. Thanks again

Grendel or Beowulf??

Hi Guys,
Sorry I missed the inagural event for the Canyon Gun Club. In the future I’ll make sure I have my priorities in the proper order!! I’m sure it was an event to be remembered!

Paul, nice AR!! My next dream gun is either the 6.5 Grendel or the .50 Beowulf made by Alexander Arms. The Grendel is now used by the U.S. Military as both an AR and sniper. Any of you have any insights on either??

Another great website to add to the list is, Utahshootingsports.com Lots of great info on this sight including shooting ranges throughout Utah.

First Outing

I must say I think our first official outing was a success! We had eight members in attendance and had a “blast” shooting targets and trying out each other’s guns. The highlight was probably the AR-15 that was exploding rocks, destroying spinner targets, and generally imploding eardrums! Just a remind folks, always wear your ear protection! :)

Included are a few pictures from my iPhone. I will try to post a few more when Davis gets pics downloaded from his camera.

Gunnies

Was just checking out Gunnies’ latest ad.  They have a couple of interesting items on sale.  First, they have several models of SigSauer certified pre-owned handguns on sale (that’s where I picked-up my 9mm), and they have this little gem… a DPMS AR-15 Panther Sportical Carbine!

Looks like it comes with a hard case and several accessories including two 30-round magazines.  Everyone needs one of these, right?  I mean when the Apocalypse comes how are ya gonna protect all that food storage you’ve been amassing?  ;)

Unbounded Gratitude!!!

Gentlemen,

What a privelege and honour it is for me to be invited to join this exclusive and dangerous club!!  This is great!!

Paul, thanks for putting this together!!

A couple of suggestions: 1) additional websites of interest “Ducks Unlimited”; 2) additional categories, “Shotguns”; 3) suggested addition to membership: Darrin Gilbert…if he is interested?

As to the Groto outing tomorrow, I’ll be at a dinner in SLC…but, nice to have the calendar!!

Good Shooting, Mark “PRockwell09″ Walker
